How we use your details

Who we are
Nexo Automotive Limited is the data controller for the personal information you give us through this website. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17232077, at No3 Fulwood, 3 Caxton Road, Preston PR2 9ZZ. What we collect
When you send an enquiry we receive what you type into the form: your name, phone number, email address, the service you are interested in, and the answers you give for it. Depending on the service, that can include the car you want and how you would like to pay or lease, a company name for a business lease, registrations (including a car you want to part exchange), mileage, rental dates and times, your car's condition, history and any damage, photos you add, and any message. If you give us a registration, we look it up with a vehicle data provider (Vehicle Data Global) to get the make, model and year, so we do not have to ask you for them. For a car you want to sell or part exchange, we also check its MOT and mileage history, whether it is recorded as written off or stolen, and a guide value, so we can value it fairly. Our server also records the date and time of the enquiry and the IP address it came from, which we use to stop spam and abuse.
Rental enquiries. To check whether a car can be rented to you, we ask for the driver's age and whether they have any driving convictions or penalty points. Conviction and penalty point details are treated as criminal offence data: we ask for them only for rental enquiries, use them only to arrange the rental you asked about, share them only with the rental provider or insurer involved, and keep them no longer than we need for that enquiry.
Photos. Photos you add to a Sell Your Car enquiry are emailed to our team with your enquiry so we can value the car. Please avoid photos that show people or other cars' number plates.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you the information, valuation or availability you asked for. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract with you.
- To keep a record of what was discussed if you go on to buy, sell or rent a car with us.
- To protect the website from spam and misuse (legitimate interests).
When we reply, we may suggest other vehicles that suit what you asked about. We do not send general marketing without your agreement, you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and we never sell your details.
Who sees it
Your enquiry is emailed to our team's mailboxes and to the company that builds and looks after this website for us, which helps make sure no enquiry is missed, and it is saved in our customer records system so we can follow it up. Our website, records system and email are hosted by SiteGround, and some of our mailboxes are provided by Google. These providers process the information only on our behalf.
If you ask us to find, lease, sell or rent a car, we may need to share relevant details with the dealer, leasing company or funder, buyer or rental provider involved. We will tell you before we do. Asking about leasing does not involve a credit check.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a customer, in which case we keep the records the law requires for that transaction. Our server's spam log is cleared regularly.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email Enquiries@nexoautomotive.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
